Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding facial rejuvenation by facelift and neck lift surgery. There are 3 types of facelifts: standard SMAS facelift,mini-facelift (Lifestyle lift, Quick-lift, Short incision facelift, S- lift) and mid-facelift.
The technique that I usually recommend is called the “optimal mobility line facelift”, which offers minimal undermining (trauma) to the face, however, with maximal suspension and results, but with minimal risk of a complication. The technique is related to each patient’s individual facial and neck anatomy. Some patients may also benefit from the addition of a neck rejuvenation procedure or anterior neck tightening procedure or neck lift, formally known as a cervicoplasty or platysmaplasty. This procedure alleviates vertical muscle banding and removes excess skin. Additionally, excess fat can removed with gentle facial and neck liposuction.
I have over 20 years of experience with over 1,200 facelifts completed and a 97% patient satisfaction rate. I will review the benefits and limitations and the surgical technique of each of these methods to determine the optimal method for you.
Most patients can have this procedure performed with oral sedation and local anesthesia, supplemented with intravenous sedation using Versed for amnesia, and if requested, general anesthesia. The duration of discomfort needing narcotic analgesics is 3-5 days in over 90% of patients, mild swelling of the face and behind the ears from 7 – 10 days and mild bruising, which resolves in nearly everyone by two weeks. Platelet glue made from your own plasma with over thirty growth factors minimizing bruising, improves the quality of your skin and optimizing the suspension by the “glue” effect.
I have considerable experience in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery with completion of residency and fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center.
